Out and About

Years ago at one of the CHA (Craft and Hobby Association) shows in Chicago we were able to sneak away for a short time for my first ever visit to a "PAPER SOURCE" store.  We hopped on a train and made the trek to the shop that was there.   I have loved the store ever since and always make it a point when traveling to stop if I'm ever near one.  I am thrilled that Arizona has finally gotten our own Paper Source, located in the Scottsdale Quarter.

Love their beautiful stationary and paper goods.

Lots of ideas and workshops.

Great wrapping, cards and just lots of fun stuff.

A few of my favorite things when I recently visited them -

Notice the large silverware paper...

This cutlery table wrapping paper comes in a roll
30" wide x 50' long

Cute pillows here!

and here
lined notepad for you special someone....

A notepad with a perforated stub on each page.  Each stub has a lovely thought that can be torn off and used wherever you want to leave a sweet little message.

Fun valentine frame....

glass tray

This fun store is best in person, but if you don't have a Paper Source near you, visit them online.

Have a great weekend,
Deb

Out and About

A few weeks ago when Paula was in town, we discovered a new place to visit.  Actually, Paula found it looking at something online and sourced it to this shop not far from my house.

I found out that it has been open in Gilbert for a year.....hmmmm, I need to get out more.  They also have stores in Utah and Nevada, but if you don't have one near, you can also order items online.  They are a reasonably priced home decor store.....here are some of our favorite things we found there.

Perpetual calendar

 black globe

framed mirrors in some fun colors and different shapes

metal open/closed sign

This is the item that Paula was looking at online that led us to finding the store.  The wording is on the framed glass, which raises it off the background. There are a couple of others that are similar with different phrases and colors.

Lots of clocks....wall and tabletop, small and large

love this wall hook

 Great for the office....
 Fabulous world map....
....fun place, check it out here!

And another bit of good news....Found in Mesa is going to be open again with regular hours....YEA!  If you aren't local be sure and check out their blog.....always good inspiration!

Have a great holiday weekend!

DETAILS

Once again, Miss Sande Krieger comes to the rescue with pictures for our post today.  Deb and I are of course at CHA (Craft and Hobby) Trade show in Los Angeles until the 1st so Sande helped us out by going to her favorite store, DETAILS, in Sugar House (a suburb of Salt Lake City) and taking a few photographs for us to use today.  Deb had been to the store on a visit to SLC with her husband a couple years back (of course she took pictures) and it is nice to see that Details has only gotten better with age.
See for your self...
ripped pieces of muslin that they stamp on...what a fun idea.

What a fabulous apothecary jar!  I have three of these in varying sizes I bought for a wedding reception I did a few years ago...maybe its time to get them out of the attic!  I can always use another place to store bits of stuff.

I know these are not old but I still love them.  Fabulous find for a mantle.

What a can of white spray paint can do!

Notice the varying sizes of sidelights hooked together...at least that's what I think they are.  Super cool room divider!

Deb and I have been collecting old store signs like these for a few years.  They used some Tim Holtz 12 x 12 paper in these.  I might just have to do that too.  I think Sande bought one of these so we will have to wait to see what she does with it.

Is this not a darling table, or what?

All I am going to say is...I think I need to lay down now (on that day bed that is).

This is an up close shot of a curtain in the showroom...just fabulous.
I can see now a trip to SLC may be in order.  My husband can snowboard and I can shop!
You can see more picture here and on Sande's blog this week (you know where to find that!)

Once again, thanks go out to Sande for helping us out this week!
