Vellum and the Worn Cover Journal

As many of you may know, Tim posted a fantastic tutorial yesterday showing how to create a 3-D Luminary using the Sizzix Luminary die and the new Wallflower Vellum that was just released.  It's my turn today!

The new vellum comes in a 12 x 12" pad, and includes 12 x 12" , 6 x 6" and 3 x 4" sizes, just like the Wallflower Paper Stash.

This is the vellum with a piece of white paper underneath just to show the pattern.
Two packs of Vellum Ephemera were also released that have the same great graphics as the paper ephemera, but sheer.  This is Expedition. It consists of travel related images, like tickets, maps, globes and travel labels.

I decided to add pieces of the Vellum Ephemera Pack (Expedition) over the pages of a Worn Cover Journal.  Easy to staple on with the Tiny Attacher.
Love the round world and clock shapes that fit right into the square pockets.

Tiny flashcards are a favorite to add in,
as well as small pieces that slip into the pockets.
You can also cut up the 12 x 12" sized sheets to create your own pages. Perfect for a vintage look.
Love the way it looks over pictures, giving you just a hint of what is underneath.

I also cut a 6 x 8" piece from the vellum pad and folded it in half (6 x 4") to make a pocket for a #8 tag.  Then stitched around it with my sewing machine.  The vellum is sturdy enough stand up to the stitching without ripping as well as the tag being pulled in and out of the pocket.
Hope you like the vellum as much as I do.  Wallflower Paper Stash is beautiful and now it's twice as nice!

  7. The wallpaper stash paper is a favorite of mine also. Haven't used vellum in a long time, always loved the look and effect you could get with it. Love the pocket you made with it, reminds me of glassine bags which I always have a fondness for. Leave it to Tim and you to give vellum a fresh new look and more ways to use it. Can't wait to see what the other designers create with it.
