Quilt Market.
I think I grow to love this show more each time we go. Maybe because we are getting to know more people in the fabric world and so we feel like we fit in just a little more in a industry that has deep roots.
Today I thought I would tackle the show floor just so you can see the huge variety of what is being shown. I'll share the Eclectic Elements booth in my next post including some of the projects that were made for show using the new Eclectic Elements fabric - Correspondence.

sorry I didn't take a picture of the entire quilt). I just had to take a close up of the quilting detail since it really set off the center of the quilt.

Loved the wall hanging of fabric. If you expand the photo you can see they have stitched around the colored images making a beautiful fabric look like a work of art.
Richele and I went looking for a booth called
Fiberworks owned by Laura Heine. Laura creates very unique quilts using a "fusing" technique as well as quilting. We got word that many of Laura's quilts have Eclectic Elements fabric included in the designs so we thought we should check it out.
We were absolutely amazed at Laura's technique, patterns and color choices.
Here is one of the quilts that used Eclectic Elements Fabric - Entomology from the Wallflower collection.
This is an up close of the quilt. You can see that the cow is made up of random strips of fabric...even prints. Love the mix of pink, eggplant and mustard.
There was also the much anticipated line "Les Fleurs" from
Rifle Paper Co, for Cotton + Steel. My favorites were the travel related prints!

Buttermilk Basin
Another all time favorite is Buttermilk Basin. The booth is always dressed beautifully, with so many great ideas mixed with vintage. Wish I had more time for stitching! They had a Christmas theme this show, with lots of Santas and old trucks.

I could not leave out this crazy
Star Trek fabric from Camelot Fabrics!
I think my brother needs a quilt made out of this. He is the reason I have seen every episode of Star Trek. We had a TV with a knob on it (
sadly before remote control) and as soon as Star Trek came on he would pull the knob off the TV and run down the hall to hide it so I couldn't change the channel!
This is was the one quilt I didn't get information on (darn it). I love the design and didn't want to leave it out. If I can find the name or the maker I will update the post.

I hope you have enjoyed my tour of Quilt Market Salt Lake City. There are so many lovely fabrics out there that it's a great time to break out the sewing machine! Or in my case maybe sew on something other than paper!
