Can't wait....

I love discovering a good book series already out so I don't have to wait for long stretches of time between books.  Awhile back my sweet daughter-in-law got me hooked on The Hunger Games book series.  As she was explaining to me the concept for the book I didn't think it was something I would get into but started it anyway.  It is the kind of book that you can't put down and on the New York Times bestseller list for three consecutive years!

Can't wait...
They have made it into a movie which is coming out on March 23rd.

Here's a trailer.....
See more here....here's hoping that the movie is as good as the book.

Have a great weekend,
Deb

  1. My daughter told me about these books and I thought the same as you...didn't think I'd like them. But she gave me the first one to read last week and I really enjoyed it! I started book 2 last night.

I'm looking forward to seeing the movie as well. Hope you enjoy it!

  3. I enjoyed these books too and I have a chick date set up with my girlfriends to see it on Friday. But I don't expect the movie to be as good as the books - they never are... But I go and enjoy - going to the movies - one of life's simple pleasures!

  7. I've not read these yet, but they are so on my list of books I want to read. I really try to read the books before I see the movies, so I'd better read this soon!! :) I know my daughter loved it.

  12. I borrowed the three books from a friend and was surprised that I read them all. The premise is so awful and yet I was drawn in by the excellent writing and the gripping story! I have a vivid enough imagination and don't think I'll see the movie - I'll have nightmares!

  13. That is so funny! What a familiar story "my daughter said I should read this, but I didn't think it was my kind of thing", for me, it was seeing the first trailer that finally hooked me (Katniss' commitment to her family). Now I've read all three books, have watched the trailers, seen the character portraits and actor interviews, taken my daughter and 5 other teens to the mall to try and get a glimpse of the cast and I'm as anxious for the movie to come out as my daughter! I have to say I'm very encouraged by the interviews with the actors that I've seen. They seem to know the books (some rabidly) and they seem to think everything is at it should be! We'll have to chat again once we've seen the movie to see what we thought! Thanks for sharing!!!
