Hi Everyone!
I'm back today with another project using the Globe die and Metallic cardstock. When I cut the Globe for the last project, this idea came to mind. Would you believe I glittered this configurations box last year and then never used it? Well, it's true. It has sat on a shelf for more than a year, waiting for the right time, the right idea, the right product to use it.
I'm glad I waited because I love it. The Sizzix Globe die was MEANT for this size box...a perfect fit! And you know these colors speak to me at holiday time, lol!
I started by painting the small Configurations box with Ranger Silver Metallic paint.
After it was dry, I covered one side of the box with the layer of Glossy Accents, spreading it out with a disposable brush.
Then poured Distress Glitter in Pumice Stone over the glue.
I worked my way around the box, one side at a time till it was completely covered. Set aside to dry completely, then tap off excess glitter.
Here is the globe I cut from the Metallic Kraft core. This pack of cardstock makes me so happy... on my top #5 of all products released in 2015. Maybe even #1, because I have used this paper pack over and over in so many projects this year!
I colored the Foundation Feet with gold Alcohol Ink, rubbing it in with a felt pad (
use gloves unless you want the Midas touch). Then with the Blending Tool and a felt pad, I hit the high spots with silver Alcohol Ink. If it looks a bit bright, pounce a small amount of mushroom to tone it down.
The box was lined with old book text using Multi-Medium to apply it as well as give it a finish coat to seal the old paper.
I added the Globe die cut to the back with foam squares so it's raised off the book text. I also white-washed the word PEACE from the Holiday Letterpress set (
I love this set because it has to many E's!!) then added it to the background with Glossy Accents.
I added the words
"on earth" (
from the Small Talk - Occasions sticker book).
The Woodland Trees were rolled in Rock Candy (
add Multi-medium with your finger to the tips of the branches before rolling!), then add Platinum Stickles once dry.
The box is a shaker, meaning the snow moves around in the box when you tilt or turn it. The Configurations box comes with a plastic cover, which you cannot see in the photo. But I promise it's there and doing its job keeping the snow (
which is just Rock Candy Glitter) inside the winter wonderland!
I added at Curio Knob to the top of the box and filled the space with vintage silk ribbon, leaves cut from music paper, pearls from old necklaces, and a vintage jingle bell.

The Foundation Feet were adhered with hot glue. Easy way to add a whole bunch of character!
