The Great Ranjini

We wanted to share one more project from the new 7gypsies release.  It was created by Ranjini Malhotra, who is on the 7gypsies Creative Team.  Ranjini has done projects for 7g for several years now.  She is a fabulous artist that continues to always provide us with wonderful and creative projects.  We didn't talk about this project in our posts last week and we thought it needed to be spotlighted and shared so you can appreciate it also.

Ranjini came up with the idea to create an art journal, full of things that she loves and possible things to reference when a spark of inspiration is needed to get the creative juices flowing. She used a watercolor journal with plenty of snippets, photos, inspirational quotes, random musings, and a few lovely watercolor renderings. She started by removing the binding from the journal and replacing it with 7g binding rings instead.

Inspiring...thanks Ranjini for your beautiful work, amazing as usual!

And on a side note, the wait is almost over...

7gypsies Latest & Greatest - Stamps & Rubbings

ALPHABET CLEAR STAMP
I can't tell you how long we have waited for 7gypsies to create a stamp with both upper and lower case letters.  Too long!
You can see in the project below how I used them together.  This mixed media piece was created on a 7 x 10" piece of wood.   I will show you how I created this piece tomorrow.
there's one of the cute new surveyors rulers too.
There are also two more clear stamps,
LEGENDS
TICKETS
 COLOR RUBBINGS
There are four new color rubbings...we haven't had color in a while so this is exciting!  I worked with the Apothecary labels and they were really terrific.  They are nice an thick (so they stay in one piece), have great color and go on easily.  I put a label on the surface of the round glass bottle and it went on so smooth and easy.  Each sheet is 5 x 7".

BUTTERFLIES
MINI EPHEMERA
Here is yet another darling card made by Ranjini.
It is always amazing to us what she thinks up.  I mean how cute is that?

APOTHECARY LABELS

TICKETS
love, love, love these
Alright, so that's it for now.  Tomorrow we'll see you back for a short tutorial on the super easy mixed media piece and then just one more post on the release later in the week.

AND ONE MORE THING...
I can't help but ask...who watched the season premier of,"Homes by Novogratz" this weekend?  I started watching the couple on Bravo (9 by Design) last year when they had a reality show about them buying houses and renovating them.  I am a huge fan of their eclectic style and signature mix of vintage and modern as well as the use of talented artists to create fabulous spaces.  I love all the kooky ideas and the fact that they have 7 kids!  I mean who in the design world has 7 kids?  (Tallulah, Bellamy, Breaker, Major, Five, Holleder, and Wolfgang)

I will say I wasn't a super fan of the design they did for the surfer sisters (a little too burlesque for my taste) but I'm gonna keep watching to see what they come up with next.  I will give them props for having the guts to put in a pink stove and a blue fridge.  And the stairs...super cool.
If you want to know more about the new show on HGTV or see a schedule go here.  It's worth watching even though Robert seems to be combing his hair this season.

cheers!

7gypsies Latest and Greatest - Trays & Displays

7gypsies has come up with two new trays to show off your favorite memories.  This one is the photo shadowbox tray.  It is deeper than the atc or photo trays which accommodate things with more depth.  We love them for displaying the mini bottles or anything else that sits on the ledge.

Everyone has been begging for it and it's finally here!  This easel holds any of the 7g trays or a favorite picture frame.
The fabulous Vicki Boutin created this fun tray by backing the tray with cork.   Also notice the fun technique of layering a color photo on top of a black and white photo.
Small photos were loosely wrapped around a pencil and inserted into the mini bottles.

Check out this fabulous tray by our friend and design team member, Sande Krieger.  We have included lots of close up shots so you can see all the details.
Note the new spiral hangers and hooks.
These are the loops that are currently available.
Sande loves to use 7gypsies stickers, rubbings and stamps, which she used throughout this project.

New product - 7g wood ruler and display trim studs.  The rulers come in white, black, and brown.  There are two kinds...numbers vertical and numbers horizontal.

New product -  display trim hook

Another new tray is the solo shadowbox tray.  This mini tray accommodates one 4x6 photo and three 2x2 photos.  It is quick to do and makes a great gift.

Paula did this one for a newborn baby gift.
.....and this one for a wedding gift.
Ann Mabee did this tray of her daughter Erin's family.  Look at all those girls! Darling!  The flags are made with 7gypsies paper tape.
Fun little display clip!
I am going to more than one of these!  ...and only $4.95!
That's it for today....see you tomorrow with more,
