A Steampunk Village!
I thought I would share some closeup photos of the little houses you might not see in the SSS tutorial. I had so much fun making these little houses that I'm thinking about making more to go with the first three. You need 4-5 sheets of Grungeboard to make one set of three and the package comes with 10 sheets so I have enough to make the second set from the same pack.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Mario! These are freakin awesome!!! I can't stop going back over each house in your little village and looking at all the cool details! If I could make a village, I'd make a fun little vintage/funky horse village to put on a shelf in my niece's room. She is taking horse-training lessons and is horse crazy! To make a village where everything revolves around horses instead of people (but in a funky kinda strange way), would be soooo much fun for her. Thanks for the opportunity!

ReplyDeleteI did 5 "winter" houses at Christmas time. They were up on an old silver tray with old lace until April. Love the idea of using Grungeboard.

These little houses are SO cute! Such a lot of wonderful details - especially I like the embossed roofs and the way you did the finish. Also I haven't seen the riveted metal embossingfolder - amazing and versatile! Very nice village, great job!

I remember when you did your little winter village, and have to admit, that is the kind of village I would want to make. Being from Georgia I'm always dreaming of a White Christmas.

ReplyDeleteLovely houses!! I would like to make birthday-houses! One house for each year, with a fussy cut photo of the person who is celebrated. I have a daughter that just went 14 years old, so I better start now or there will be overvelming to make the start of her first years. Wouldn't it be a great tradition though? Then you could spred the houses around the house, when celebrating the birthdays, and really se how time has gone by, and really remember the years that gone by! :) Thank you for ALL your inspiring blogs! I would love to make an Easter/Spring Village! I noticed this past Easter that most of my holiday decor was very Kid-friendly. Since my youngest is 21, and just graduated from college, I think it is time to update, no? LOL!

ReplyDeleteThese are such a great idea. Never ceases to amaze me what a creative mind and some grungeboard can do!!! I think it would be a wonderful holiday project for all the holidays. I see a little patriotic 4th of July village, and a leprechaun village for St. Patty's day, Valentine's village, Halloween, etc... Maybe instead of gingerbread/candy houses (that end up getting thrown away) me and the kiddos will make these. It would be a great way to preserve their artwork as they grow up. I could also include their Santa photos on one of these little houses, another great memory keeper... Wonderful idea and great tutorial!!!
