I put the shortbread on an 8" cardboard circle (you can buy them already cut in the cake decorating supply section of most craft stores) which I wrap first (the cardboard) in decorative foil (also sold with the cake decorating supplies), either red, green or gold. I wrap the shortbread and cardboard in plastic wrap and tie a Scottish tartan plaid ribbon in Christmas colors in a big bow with a nice gift tag. It doesn't take long, isn't expensive, is festive looking and people look forward to getting it the years I make it. I belong to a little fan club, I guess that what you would call it. We usually try to meet up on the last month of the month & talk about all kinds of things. The age range of us is like 19-74. I usually have been giving the group a little something I have made. One year I made a bookmark, another I gave a keychain, & last year I took old Beanie Baby cases, painted them, put a picture on them, & put alittle bit of candy in them. They always seem to enjoy whatever I have made & given to them.sidney98https://www.blogger.com/profile/08361849729529500743noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-942594477231846319.post-67406522594861038132011-12-17T11:34:01.659-08:002011-12-17T11:34:01.659-08:00Paula...I love this idea so much.
